African Public Relations Association APRA has commiserated with the government and people of the Republic of Kenya over the political crisis rocking the country, in which over 21 persons were reported to have lost their lives.

In a message to the east African country signed by the APRA Secretary-General, Omoniyi Ibietan, Ph.D., fnipr, the association condoled specifically expressed its solidarity with the Public Relations Society of Kenya PRSK at this defining moment in the history of the country.

The message reads in part: “The Executive Council and Members of APRA condole with all Kenyans in general over the recent crisis that happened in the Republic of Kenya.

“Also, we stand in solidarity with our colleagues in the Public Relations Society of Kenya PRSK. We urge the Government of Kenya to put the people of Kenya first and in a show of conversational capacity as already indicated by the Presidency, under take stakeholder consul tat ions with empathy and an openness to reconciliation.

“We commiserate with the families of those who died and wish a speedy recovery to those injured during the protests. We fervently pray for the repose of the souls of the deceased.”
