The acting Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR has decorated the six- member new management team comprising three Deputy Comptrollers General DCGs and three Assistant Comptrollers General ACGs. He also charged them on the need to imbibe professionalism and dedication to duty with the overall aim of achieving the vision and mission of the service.

These appointments are coming less than two months after his appointment by President Bola Tinubu, who has also approved the appointment of Festus Okun, Musa Baba Abdullahi and Albashir Hamisu as Deputy Comptrollers General (DCGs) and Kamardeen Olumoh, Auwal Mohammed and Adeogun Alajogun as Assistant Comptrollers General (ACGs).

Speaking during a symbolic ceremony to usher the newly appointed senior officers into the management team at the Customs headquarters, Abuja, CGC noted that the appointments of three DCGs and three ACGs were strictly on merit and in view of their exemplified dedication and commitment to service delivery.

This ceremony marks the first time the Comptroller-General would decorate members of the service’s management team since his appointment on June 19, 2023 by the President.

The ag. CGC, while decorating the six high ranking officers, charged them to heighten their devotion and determination to promote the service, adding that the newly promoted officers know that there are high expectations on them. He therefore urged them to renew their dedication and commitment to add value to the Nigeria Customs Service.

Meanwhile, Deputy Comptroller General of Customs, Festus Okun, who gave the vote of thanks on behalf of the newly appointed officers, expressed his appreciation to President Tinubu for the unwavering belief in their capabilities and assured of that they will discharge their responsibilities with utmost professionalism.
