Immediate past Executive Secretary/CEO of the Nigerian Shippers’ Council Barr. Hassan Bello, has bagged Nigeria’s National honour of Officer of the Order of the Niger OON conferred him by former President of the country, General Muhammadu.

The award was in recognition of his sterling performance at the CEO of the council, which doubles as the country’s Economic Regulator of the seaports for eight years during which he brought a lots of reforms that engendered the growth and development of the maritime industry.

While commenting on the award, Bello said: “My profound gratitude goes to the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR. I am humbled to announce that I have been conferred with the Prestigious National Honours Award of the Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR.”

“This honour at this point in the history of our nation, fills my heart with sincere gratitude to the president, the nation, transport Ministry as well as the maritime sector where I was given the opportunity to serve as the Executive Secretary/CEO of the NSC for eight years.”
