Lagos CP to partner NPA on ports security

Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority NPA, Mohammed Bello –Koko in Lagos, Monday led other top management to play host to the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa, who was on a working visit to the authority’s Marina, Lagos, headquarters.
Speaking during the visit, the CP, commended the management of the NPA over recent reforms at the nation’s seaports, especially the computerised traffic management system, which has addressed the perennial gridlock on the Apapa corridor, thereby enhancing security at the ports.
The Commissioner further noted that the Lagos State Police Command was willing to synergise with the NPA, especially in terms of sustaining the giant strides Bello Koko-led management, which would further boost security of lives and property around the seaport corridor.
The Managing Director in response, assured that the management under his watch is always open to collaborations, adding that the robust collaborative policy of the current management has also helped in the achievement of the milestones, which have contributed to making Nigeria’s seaports the preferred port of destination within the sub-region.
