Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma.

Mbaitoli Media Vanguard MMV has charged Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma to embark on aggressive infrastructure upgrade across the state, especially Mbaitoli Local Government Area, which has over the years been faced with poor infrastructure including roads.

MMV, a non-political, non-governmental and a non-profit making organisation, is a body of media experts from Mbaitoli Local Government Area, which focuses on championing the course of the development of the area.

According to a statement signed by its chairman, Friday Odoemena, the group observed that the desire of the government to attract both local and foreign investments into the state might not be achieved if conscious and deliberate efforts were not make to address the infrastructural gaps not only in Mbaitoli LGA but across the state as a whole.

He however commended the governor for his plans towards the rehabilitation of the Ukwuorji- Nwaoriubi Road, which has been neglected by successive governments in the state, adding that when completed, the road which links many communities within the LGA would boost trade and commerce and thereby impact the lives of the citizens.

Recall that MMV had recently issued a press statement urging the government to take steps towards revamping the road, which is a major artery within the local government to alleviate the hardship faced by the citizens, who ply the road on a daily basis.

This has been the concern of MMV who few weeks ago issued a press statement urging the governor to take a decisive action to fix the road.

The chairman, who doubles as CEO, International Maritime Digest IMD, however congratulated the government on the recent election of his deputy, Mrs. Vicky Ekomaru, who is also an illustrious daughter of Mbaitoli.

The chairman said: “This proactive action of the governor has demonstrated his unwavering commitment in alleviating the suffering of Imo Indigenes. “We salute the governor and his newly elected deputy governor and wish them success.

“We assure the government of our maximum cooperation and partnership to redeem the state’s glory. We equally plead further that the governor should extend the rehabilitation from Nwaorubi to Atta Ikeduru junction, which will also serve as a link road from Okigwe to Onitsha.

“By fixing the road and others, the people of Mbaitoli Local Government Area will now enjoy the dividends of democracy, which has eluded them over a long period of time due to the lack of government’s presence in terms of developmental projects.”
