The Executive Vice Chairman/CEO, of the Nigerian Communications Commission NCC, Dr. Aminu Maida is scheduled to join other panelists at the inaugural meeting of the International Institute of Communications IIC, Africa Chapter slated for January, 2026.

The meeting will commence on Thursday, January 29, 2026, is expected to bring key stakeholders and experts to discuss Africa’s evolving cybersecurity landscape, according to a statement by the organizing committee.

‎It was further gathered that the virtual session will take place from 09:00 to 10:30 GMT, 10:00 to 11:30 WAT, and 11:00 to 12:30 CAT. It will focus on high-level discussions aimed at strengthening cybersecurity in Africa.

‎The committee noted that the inaugural IIC meeting will explore the opportunities and challenges associated with building effective cybersecurity frameworks in Africa. Discussions will also focus on the development of coherent regulatory and policy frameworks. Strategies to foster cross-sector and cross-border collaboration in response to emerging digital threats will also be underlined.

‎‎The inaugural meeting will also feature insights from a distinguished panel of speakers, including Dr. Aminu Maida, Abdul-Hakeem Ajijola (AhA), and others, all of whom will be bringing extensive experience in cybersecurity, digital policy, and regulation.

‎The Organising Committee further noted that the engagement forms part of its broader commitment to advancing dialogue on cyber resilience, connectivity, digital policy, and regulation across Africa.
