Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye

Contrary to beliefs in some quarters, especially among the Western nations that Nigeria is a very poor nation, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye has said that the country is not poor at all. He insists however that the problem is Nigeria’s wealth is in the wrong hands.

This, according to him, accounts for why many of the citizens are poor and therefore live in abject poverty.

Ministering on the topic: ‘Moving from valley to mountain top’ at the annual Thanksgiving Service of the Mission, which holds on the first Sunday of the year and which was beamed live across all parishes of the Church worldwide, Adeboye, fondly called Daddy G.O by the congregants said: “Let no one deceive you that Nigeria is a poor nation. Nigeria is not poor; the only problem is that the wealth of the country is in wrong hands.”

“But I declare to someone listening to me all over the world today that this year, wealth will change hands, in Jesus Name.”

The G.O., who spoke on the wealth of King Solomon from 2Chronicles 1:7-12, noted that God gave King Solomon a blank cheque when He told him to ask of anything he wanted from God and he asked for wisdom to govern God’s people and God gave him both wisdom and abundance of wealth.

He noted that even in the midst of the wealth given to him by God, King Solomon turned away from God by a marrying 700 wives and acquiring 300 concubines, who turned his heart from serving God. The General Overseer further noted that turning away from God led King Solomon to a regrettable end as captured in the scripture written by Solomon himself in Ecclesiastes 1:1-2 (‘Vanity upon vanity, all is vanity…’) and Ecclesiastes 7:8 (‘Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof…’).

He therefore listed three ways to his members, who he assured of God’s blessings in the New Year, on how to enjoy God-given wealth, which include worshipping God massively, serving Him with all that He has given to them and staying connected to Him while in the midst of their wealth.
