Nigeria LNG Limited NLNG has been speaking on its new brand identity released recently, saying among several other things that the new logo represents the company’s core value of excellence.

The company has also announced the appointment of Dr. Sophia Horsfall as the new General Manager, External Relations. Sophia, whose appointment is effective November 1, 2024 takes over from Andy Odeh, who retires same day, having served the company meritoriously for nearly three decades.

Briefing newsmen in Lagos, Tuesday on recent developments in the company, the outgoing General Manager, External Relations, Odeh, noted that the company is still celebrating its 35 years of incorporation and 25 years of operation, which also saw the emergence of a new brand identity, which speaks to commitment to sustainable energy.

The new brand identity, which he described as purely simplistic, speaks to the company simplistic approach to business, not clustered, efficiency, global reach and leadership and an unflinching commitment to clean energy.

“The emergence of the new logo was a result of painstaking efforts and communications both internally and externally and the process of selection went through four different layers of tests.

“Going forward, though we are also into agriculture, we wish to be seen purely as an energy company and through transformation, we are looking at other options in the business, especially in terms of our global market leadership, digitisation, and an agile company committed to low emission”, Odeh said.

He enjoined the media partners to extend the same support and cooperation given to him over the nearly-three decade in the organisation to his successor, noting that such support and cooperation have been largely responsible for the modest achievements recorded over the year.

In an emotion laden voice, Dr Sophia expressed her deep appreciation to Odeh, for his commitment in providing good leadership, which enabled him to cultivate a powerful partnership between NLNG and its media stakeholders. She described the new responsibility as a time for introspection to ensure that the relationship, which has been developed with stakeholders over the years, is sustainably maintained.

“Thank you Andy for your unwavering dedication and invaluable contributions in amplifying our voice and vision,” Horsfall said.

The new External Relations Manager, who also spoke on the rebranding of the company, Horsfall noted that it was just more than a visual evolution but that of the company’s longstanding core value of excellence.

“It is more about strategy, culture, it is a cultural alignment to our core values of integrity, efficiency, excellence and teamwork, not just a new logo but a commitment to how we do business.

“It is an expression of a commitment to a future where clean, accessible and reliable energy is a reality for all. This is our purpose, and it resonates with the vision you have shared with the public in your reporting, shaping the perception and trust the world has in us,” she said.

Dr Horsfall, who took out time to address the media, thanked them for the role in ensuring that the NLNG story is told.

“Today, as we proudly embrace our new identity, encapsulated by the inspiring banner, “Inspiring a Sustainable Future,” we acknowledge the vital role each of you has played in telling our story over the past 25 years.

“You have been central to sharing our milestones and growth with the world, from our first steps to this transformative point. Now, as we stand united under this reimagined brand, we reaffirm our commitment to advancing innovation, sustainability, and global impact.

“I want to take a moment to thank each of you, our valued media stakeholders, for being here today. Your presence speaks to the strength of the partnership we have built over the years and your dedication to sharing the unfolding story of NLNG with your audiences.

“Your support, time, and insights are vital to our continued success, and we are truly grateful for the critical role you play in our journey. As I step into this role, I look forward to deepening the invaluable collaboration we have built.”
