The Nigerian Ports Authority NPA and the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas Limited NLNG have resolved to deepen their already existing synergy with a view to providing the much needed operational impetus to grow the country’s exports.

It was in a bid to accomplish this mission that the Managing Director/CEO of the NPA, Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho on Monday, January 20, 2025, played host to the Managing Director/CEO of the NLNG, Dr. Philip Mshelbila at the NPA Marina, Lagos headquarters.

Speaking during the working visit, Dr. Mshelbila expressed the NLNG’s appreciation for the NPA’s continued support and solicited increased synergy. He disclosed that the NLNG is currently expanding its LNG production capacity to take advantage of increased global demand.

The NPA CEO, while speaking during the visit, assured that the Authority would stop at nothing in boosting the growth of Nigeria’s export products in line with the vision and mandate of the Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy.

“Imbued by the mandate of the Honourable Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Gboyega Oyetola for the NPA to support the increased export orientation of the Federal Government, we assure you of our unwavering support.

“The NLNG has played a key role in Nigeria’s economic development and export growth since its inception. We will grow this partnership”, Dr. Dantsoho further assured.

Recall that Nigeria attained a trade surplus of N5.81trillion ($3.7billion) in the third quarter of 2024, according to reports by the Nigerian Economic Summit Group NESG foreign trade alerts was achieved through exports handled by the Nigerian Ports Authority NPA various terminals across seaport locations in the country.
