The Assistant Inspector General of Police AIG in charge of Zone 2, Mohammed Ari Ali has confirmed his visit to the Apapa GRA, Lagos headquarters of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders NAGAFF tomorrow Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at 12noon prompt.

According to a statement by the founder of the association, Dr. Boniface Aniebonam, the visit is in line with the official duty of the newly posted AIG as part of his various engagements with critical stakeholders within his zonal command structure.

The statement reads in part: “His visit is to deliver the message of hope of the Inspector General of Police in line with the mandate of the President of Nigeria in seeking for collaboration and partnership with Nigerians in the area of community policing.

“His visit shall also provide a greater opportunity to freight forwarders to discuss issues related to Police operations within his zone.”

Dr. Aniebonam noted that freight forwarders are not really having a most desired working relationship with Police officers along the city roads under the watch of the new AIG in the course of delivering cargo to the owners’ warehouses immediately they leave the Customs seaports and border stations.

The statement implores all members of NAGAFF and other members of sister associations to be present as they are all duly invited to welcome him and his officers and men, and equally have the opportunity to engage with him on mutual conversations.

“It is our hope that the Assistant Comptroller General, Zone A of the Nigeria Customs Service will follow thereafter to interact with freight forwarding practitioners within Zone A.

“So much problems in transacting businesses at the Customs ports and border stations within Zone A definitely require the attention of the ACG ahead of the proposed visit of the Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR to NAGAFF, the foremost freight forwarding association”, Aniebonam also said.
