Shippers Council inaugurates George Akume Centre in Jos

The Nigerian Shippers Council has inaugurated the George Akume Conference Centre it built in honour of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation SGF at its North Central Zonal Office in Jos, the Plateau State Capital.
Speaking during the official inauguration of the 250-seater capacity Conference Centre, Senator Akume lauded the Council and the Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy under the leadership of H.E. Gboyega Oyetola for the well-thought through project, describing it as ‘a testament to commitment and vision’ in developing and strengthening Nigeria’s logistics and maritime system.
He added that the project is not just a Conference Centre, but ‘a statement of vision, a testament to commitment, and a reflection of the renewed energy driving Nigeria’s port and logistics system under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led government’.
“Across the world, economic progress is built on solid infrastructure, efficient seaports, roads, railways, and dry ports are the arteries through which the lifeblood of commerce flows.
“The Federal Government under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu, is prioritising investment in critical transport and trade infrastructure across all regions of the country from the coastlines to the hinterlands in order to boost connectivity and competitiveness”, Senator Akume assured.
