The Nigerian Shippers’ Council NSC and the Nigerian Ports Authority NPA are joining forces to elevate the country’s maritime sector by making the seaports more efficient and globally competitive.

Speaking during a courtesy visit to the Marina, Lagos, corporate headquarters of the NPA, Executive Secretary/CEO of the Council, Barr. Pius Akutah emphasised the need for effective collaboration among the industry stakeholders to meet national economic goals.

He pledged the commitment of the Council to consistently engage with industry stakeholders in line with government’s efforts to improve the business environment within the port industry thereby making Nigeria’s seaports more efficient and globally competitive,

Managing Director/CEO of the NPA, Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho, who warmly received the NSC visiting team in company of other top executives of the Authority, highlighted key initiatives of the NPA such as the Electronic Call-Up System for haulage trucks operating within the industry.

Dr. Dantsoho, who also observed that there was every need for further partnerships in line with efforts to take the industry to enviable heights, argued that together, stakeholders would drive the progress for a more efficient port system in Nigeria for the overall benefit of the national economy.
