The Nigerian Shippers’ Council NSC, the country’s Economic Regulator port the port industry has joined the rest of the global shipping community to celebrate the 2025 edition of the annual World Maritime Day with the theme: “Our Ocean, Our Obligation and Activity”.

Executive Secretary/CEO of the Council, Dr. Pius Akutah, used the occasion to felicitate with stakeholders and investors, who are working assiduously towards the growth and development of the sector in Nigeria.

A statement by the Council reads in part: “As the world marks Maritime Day 2025, the Nigerian Shippers’ Council extends warm wishes to all maritime stakeholders whose dedication, investments, and contributions continue to drive the growth of our industry.

“This year’s celebration, themed: “Our Ocean, Our Obligation and Activity,” aligns with the vision of the Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy. In this spirit, the Council will proudly join other stakeholders at the World Maritime Day 2025 celebration in Lagos.

“We wish everyone in the maritime community a memorable celebration and continued success as we chart the course toward a sustainable and thriving industry.”
