NPA partners BPSR to enhance port efficiency

The Nigerian Ports Authority NPA has said it is willing to partner the Bureau for Public Service Reforms BPSR, in line with its commitment promote continuous and sustained reform of the nation’s seaports. This is with a view to making them efficient and globally competitive.
Managing Director of the NPA, Mohammed Bello Koko, who led other top management of the agency to receive a delegation from the BPSR led by its Director General, Dasuki Arabi at the NPA corporate headquarters, Marina, Lagos, said the authority is always open to genuine partnerships.
Bello-Koko also told the delegation that the management of the NPA under his watch is currently focusing on automating the port systems, which is also in line with the Federal Government’s policy of promoting Ease of Doing Business across all sectors of the economy.
He argued that automating the port systems would enhance efficiency, reduce cost of doing business, make the seaports globally competitive and above all, enhance revenue generation.
The DG BPSR in his opening remarks, said he was at the NPA to promote partnership and enhance a cordial relationship between the two government agencies in the overall interest of the nation’s economy.
