NPA set to boost activities at Calabar Port

In line with its resolve to boost patronage of ports in the eastern part of the country, the Nigerian Ports Authority NPA, has said it is committed to increasing economic activities at the Calabar Port, which is one of the eastern ports.
Speaking during the commissioning the new mini safety station at the Calabar Port at the weekend, Managing Director of the NPA, Mohammed Bello- Koko, disclosed that in addition to improving safety at the port, the authority is planning to review earlier incentives granted to the port users, especially importers, exporters and shipping lines.
He said that such a review had become necessary to ensure that the aims and objectives of such incentives were achieved as well as making sure that the economic benefits of such incentives trickled down to every segment of the port stakeholders, which will in turn increase patronage of the port.
