Late Alhaji Bamanga Tukur

The Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority NPA, Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho has joined the global trade facilitation community in mourning the passing of a former Chief Executive Officer of the Authority, a distinguished elder statesman and international businessman Alhaji Bamanga Tukur.

Tukur, who was the General Manager/CEO of the NPA from 1975 to 1982, died on Saturday September 12, 2026 at the age of 90.

According to a statement by the General Manager, Corporate and Strategic Communications Department of the Authority, Ikechukwu Onyemakara, Dr. Dantsoho, who joined the Executive Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmad Umar Fintiri to receive the remains of the late business mogul said: “I would like to on behalf of the entire Management and Staff of the NPA, express our profound condolences and deepest sympathy to his immediate family, the Federal Republic of Nigeria and indeed the good people of Adamawa State on the demise of a pillar of trade facilitation and an inspiration to many.”
