The Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency NIMASA, Dr. Bashir Jamoh recently visited the Executive Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-rufai at the Government House in Kaduna.

Though details of the meeting were still sketchy as at the time of filing this report, our Correspondent however gathered that part of the discussions may have included the issues around the Inland Dry Port IDP, located in the state with a view to making it an export centre for agricultural produce in line with Federal Government’s economic diversification policy through promoting non-oil exports.

It is also expected that when fully operational, the ICD would also help in the current efforts by government agencies to reduce pressure on existing conventional seaport facilities and terminals especially those in Lagos, many of which are currently operating above their installed capacity.
