Gov Abiodun, Osoba to unveil Journalists’ Estate Civic Centre March 27

The duo of the Governor of Ogun State, H.E Prince Dapo Abiodun and a former Governor of the state, H.E Chief Olusegun Osoba have accepted to grace the official unveiling of the Civic Centre of the Journalists’ Estate Phase 1, Arepo, slated for Friday, March 27, 2026, barring any last minute change in the scheme of things.
The Centre, a multi-million-naira facility, embodies a recreational centre and a shopping complex, among others, which serves both residents and neighbouring estates and communities, was built by the residents under the auspices of the Journalists’ Estate Residents Association JERDA 1.
According to a statement by the chairman of the planning committee, Dr. Ray Echebiri, adequate arrangements have been made for a hitch-free and colourful ceremony, which will kick off at 10am, and promises to draw prominent dignitaries and community leaders and friends of the Estate within the state and beyond.
It was further learnt that former Governor of the state, Chief Osoba, has graciously accepted to serve as Chairman of the occasion, while the state governor, Dapo Abiodun, will be the Special Guest of Honour.
The statement also disclosed that the Chief Unveiler for the event will be Otunba Olusegun Runsewe, who is also a patron of the Estate, while the traditional ruler, the Olu of Arepo, Oba Solomon Atanda will be the Royal Father of the Day, even as the Chief Host is the chairman of the Estate, Mr. Jide Oke Esq.
The statement reads in part: “The Journalists Estate Civic Centre is designed to serve as a hub for leisure, community engagement, and social activities within the fast-growing Arepo, located off Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
“Members of the public and invited guests are encouraged to attend the ceremony, which is expected to mark a significant milestone in the development of recreational infrastructure in the bustling community of Arepo and its environs.”
