The Nigerian Shippers’ Council NSC, under the supervision of the Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy and in collaboration with the National Judicial Institute NJI, is concluding plans to hold its 18th International Maritime Seminar for Judges from Wednesday, July 22 to Friday, 24, 2026.

The three-day event is scheduled to hold at the Ball Room, Ladi Kwali Conference Centre, Abuja Continental Hotel (formerly Sheraton Hotel), Abuja between 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. daily, according to a statement by the Head, Public Relations Unit of the Council, Rebecca Adamu.

It was gathered that the 2026 edition of the International Maritime Seminar for Judges marks 31 years of strengthening judicial capacity in maritime law and admiralty practice in Nigeria.

Established in 1995, the flagship capacity-building programme has become the premier event on Nigeria’s maritime calendar, fostering knowledge exchange, enhancing judicial competence in maritime law and admiralty practice, and promoting consistency in the adjudication of maritime disputes.
