Deputy Director and Head, Corporate Communications, NIMASA, Isichei Osamgbi

Ace Image Maker, Deputy Director and Head, Corporate Communications of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency NIMASA, Isichei Osamgbi was among the few former members of staff of the THISDAY Group of Newspaper who were recognised for their immence contributions to its 25 years of robust journalism and telling truth to power last weekend.

The event which was unique and distinct from other awards ever organised by the newspaper group, also coincides with the 25th anniversary of the paper. This year’s edition featured a total 12 categories of awardees and special recognition for about 1,000 former members of staff, including Osamgbi, who drove the vision.

It is even more refreshing that this honour was bestowed in a gathering of best governance business experts in the country and across the globe such as President of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, Business Mogul and oil magnet, Femi Otedola, Minister of Transport, Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaech, Director General, Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency NIMASA, Dr. Dakuku Peterside and Managing Director of Nigerian Ports Authority, Hadiza Bala Usman.

Others include chairman of StanbicIBTC Bank, Atedo Peterside, former Governor of Anambra State and Vice Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, in the 2019 general election, Peter Obi, renowned Journalist, Timi Alibe and Chairman of the Ruling All Progressives Congress APC, Adams Oshiomole, among several others.

While with the paper, Isichei Osamgbi rose to the position of Group Foreign / Diplomatic Editor, Energy Editor and Deputy Group News Editor, among other positions.

Before Joining NIMASA as the Head, Corporate Communications, Osamgbi was Communication Adviser at Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company SNEPCo.

He is also a Past President of the prestigious Ikoyi Rotary Club, where he touched lives through creative programmes and having also proved himself as a team worker and a good leader everywhere he finds himself.
