BREAKING: Nigeria Customs seizes large arm cache, hemp- infused cookies at Tin Can Port Lagos

The Nigeria Customs Service has seized a large cache of arms comprising yet-to-be-identified number of Jojef pump action rifles illegally imported in completely knocked down parts through the Tin Can Island Port, Lagos.
The illegal importation was concealed in a 40-foot container, which arrived the country on July 8, 2026. At the time of filing this report, a total of 140 pieces of the guns have so far been assembled, while experts are still assembling the rest.
In a separate operation, the Service has also intercepted two 40-foot containers laden with cannabis-infused products including cookies cleverly concealed alongside two used vehicles, two used pumping generators, rolls of blue polypropylene spunbond fabric, new tubular batteries and thunder arrester cables.
The cookies were manufactured in the United States of America.
