CRFFN boss seeks enhanced port efficiency, trade facilitation to grow economy

The Registrar/CEO, of the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding Practice in Nigeria CRFFN, Igwe Kingsley O. FCILT, joined other policymakers, regulators, and industry leaders at a high-level convergence, held on Friday, April 17, 2026, at NBCC Plaza, Lagos.
Delivering a keynote address, which centred on the theme: “Unlocking Nigeria’s Maritime and Logistics Potential for Trade Competitiveness and Economic Growth” at event, which also featured the Nigeria-British Chamber of Commerce Maritime and Logistics Stakeholders Engagement, he argued that there was a nexus between strong regulatory coordination, port efficiency, trade facilitation reforms and economic growth.

According to him, “There is urgent need for enhanced port efficiency, stronger regulatory coordination, and effective trade facilitation reforms.”
He further highlighted the pivotal role of freight forwarding in driving seamless trade operations and economic growth.
The engagement brought together key players across the maritime and logistics value chain to drive actionable strategies for Nigeria’s economic transformation and global trade integration.
