The Executive Vice Chairman/CEO, of the Nigerian Communications Commission NCC, Dr. Aminu Maida, has reiterated the Commission’s commitment towards strengthening Nigeria’s digital evolution.

Speaking at the just concluded Enugu Tech Festival, the NCC-Boss acknowledged that the occasion was significant a deep-dive display of tech innovation, vibrant and stimulating atmosphere, which reinforces the exponential growth in Nigeria’s digital transformation.

Dr. Maida, who also acknowledged the vibrancy of the expo, added that Nigeria has so much potential that will leapfrog her using the robust and evolving regulatory framework that would also take her to the global arena.

He commended the Enugu State Governor, Mr. Peter Mbah, for the state’s roadmap on digital acceleration, adding, that the governor deserves commendation for his strategic roadmap in the country’s digitalisation drive.

“Nigeria’s telecommunication’s exponential growth is not accidental but the result of deliberate reforms, policies and structural framework designed to foster competition, stimulate investors and to protect the consumers.”

“The NCC and its stakeholders are working on a more robust and all- inclusive e National Telecommunications Policy 2000, which has been the framework that has guided its evolution in the last two decades.

“The review is targeting a modern and consumer-centric policy that will shape the growth of the sector, and it will also embrace innovations in line with new and emerging technologies”, the NCC-Boss further assured.

He commended President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda through the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, which he noted, has ramped up over 179 million active mobile lines and still counting. He added that the achievement was made possible by the robust and visionary leadership.
