NSC: Jime pledges continuity in policy implementation…Assures on dry ports’ completion

The new Executive Secretary/CEO of the Nigerian Shippers’ Council, Hon. Emmanuel Jime has said that the present management under his watch will ensure continuity in policy implementation by the council.
He specifically assured that everything would be done towards the completion of strategic projects, especially the Inland Dry Ports IDPs, Vehicle Areas, VTAs Border Information Centres BICs and many other projects initiated by his predecessor, Hassan Bello.
Jime stated this at the recently concluded ministerial retreat organised by Federal Ministry of Transport for agencies under it, which held in Lagos.
The NSC boss, who presented the report of Council’s activities from 2019 to 2020, said that the agency as Port Economic Regulator has ensured effective regulation at the nation’s ports.
He commended the Federal Ministry of Transport for the retreat, stating that the initiative provides a unique opportunity for the maritime agencies and top officials of the ministry to cross-fertilize ideas on projects for the elevation of the maritime sector in Nigeria.
He assured that the NSC would not relent in its effort to ensuring seamless transactions at the ports.
In attendance at the retreat were representatives from other agencies including the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency NIMASA, Nigerian Ports Authority NPA, the National Inland Waterways Authority NIWA and top officials of the ministry.
