The Tin Can Island Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has witnessed a new dawn following a change of baton in its leadership.  This development came on the heels of the recent redeployment of some senior officers by the Customs management team aimed at enhancing service delivery in its core mandates.

In line with this objective, the immediate past Controller of the command, Comptroller Bashar Yusuf, who has been redeployed as Comptroller in charge of Pre-Arrival Assessment Report PAAR, Ruling Centre handed over to the new Controller, Comptroller Mohammed Musa.

Comptroller Musa was born in 1964 and enlisted into the Nigeria Customs Service as Cadet Officer in 1990 and has served in various capacities which include but not limited to Zone ‘A’ Headquarters between 2005 – 2006, Tariff and Trade headquarters department from 2011 to 2017, Post Clearance Audit PCA, where he was in-charge of System Audit.

The new Controller has promised to build on the legacies of his predecessor in all ramifications and called for the support of all critical stakeholders in the task ahead.  Comptroller MUSA has been variously described as a highly disciplined officer and gentleman, highly knowledgeable in Customs modernisation procedures and therefore posses the requisite competence to deliver on his mandate.

He is happily married with children.
